Hi everyone, Coach Kaz here!
I was fortunate to play, coach and scout in two sports professionally as well as develop athletes for 20+ years all over the world working with groups like Hockey Canada, the Australian Institute of Sport and the Seattle Mariners.
I created The Yard YQL (The Yard) in honor of my Dad. My Dad took his own life 26 years ago. It was the same night that I made my first pro hockey team and was named assistant captain. The Yard is dedicated to the memory of my Dad because I choose to remember the best about my Dad. It was when we played as a family that we had the most fun! My Dad was a great guy and helped a lot of kids play through giving away equipment at our small town sporting goods store.
I am carrying on that tradition with a goal to help thousands of kids ages 4-14 find affordable play programs and have more fun!
When I look back, not only did play accelerate my sport skills but my fondest memories were playing with my Dad, family and friends. I believe that if we had played more together as a family, things may have been different. I designed The Yard programs on these principals;
I invite you to contact me if you believe in this kind of approach to work and play with families and kids, if you want to become involved, if you want to bring The Yard to your community as a business opportunity or if you have any questions! I look forward to connecting with you and please reach out to me at any time.
I also invite you to Come and Play at The Yard!
